Composting Collaborative Webinar on Nurturing Entrepreneurs to Grow Infrastructure

October 9, 2018

The Composting Collaborative, of which USCC is a founding partner, is focusing its October webinar on the role of new businesses in closing the gaps in providing organics recycling collection and compost production and sales. USCC has found that encouraging entrepreneurship is one answer.

In this October 17 webinar (3-4:15 pm) facilitated by USCC’s Associate Director, Cary Oshins, learn how the USCC has worked through its Young Professionals Group to reach out to new businesses with feedback and funding, and find out what longtime compost businesses have to say about where the industry needs to go.

Speakers are: Lora Hinchcliff and Mark Rose, of Living Earth, a Texas compost manufacturer founded more than 25 years ago; Meredith Danberg-Ficarelli of Common Ground Compost, who started a New York City microhauling business that has become a model for community composting (and winner of the first annual Emerging Composter Challenge); and Isaac Berg, a USCC Young Professionals leadership team member and founding committee member of the USCC’s New Jersey Chapter.
