US Composting Council Announces 2016 Board Officer Election

The US Composting Council (USCC) Board of Directors serves a critical role in guiding the organization to a sustainable and vibrant future. Join us in congratulating Lorrie Loder of nuTerra Management, LLC as the 2016 USCC Board President.

“Thank you to everyone who supported my re-election,” Lorrie said. “I am extremely honored to be able to serve, once again, on the Board and as the 2016 President and I am eagerly looking forward to working with the other Board members, Council staff and members to fulfill the Council’s mission of promoting the composting industry. Currently, there is a nationwide focus on diverting organic materials from disposal and the US Composting Council is leading the way by promoting best management practices, establishing standards, educating professionals and the public about the benefits of compost manufacturing and compost utilization.”

The other 2016 officers are:

• Vice President: Wayne King Sr., of ERTH Products
• Treasurer: Clayton Leonard of New Earth Inc
• Secretary: Jeff Ziegenbein, Inland Regional Compost Authority
• Immediate Past President: Rod Tyler, Filtrexx

Incoming Board members who were elected last month include: Brian Fleury of WeCare Organics; Sarah Martinez, Eco-Products; Greg Gelewski, Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency and Susan Thoman, Cedar Grove Composting.

They join Tim Goodman – Natureworks; Robert Michtisch – University of Wisconsin; Patrick Geraty – St. Louis Composting; Rod Tyler – Filtrexx; Matt Cotton – Integrated Waste Management Consulting; Frank Franciosi – Novozymes; and Chuck Wilson – A1 Organics and the newly elected Board officers.

Three Directors; Heidi Ringhofer – Western Lake Suburban Sanitary Commission; Paul Sellew – Harvest Power and Rhodes Yepsen – Biodegradable Products Institute, are leaving the board.

“On behalf of the US Composting Council, I would like to thank the outgoing Directors for their dedicated service to the organization and the membership,” said Rod Tyler, current USCC President. “I would also like to welcome the new Board members to the Board. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to serve with this group of experts,” Tyler said “and we look forward to introducing the new Board and Officers at our Annual Conference in January in Jacksonville.”

The term of the new Board begins January 1, 2016.
