Heidi Ringhofer

Heidi Ringhofer

Heidi has worked in Solid Waste Management for more than 20 years, including operations and supervision of hazardous waste programs for business and households; yard waste and source-separated organics composting programs; and regional recycling operations and solid waste transfer operations. She has spoken before national and state audiences and previous USCC conferences and the North American Hazardous Materials Management Association (NAHMMA) conference.

Tim Lundell

Tom has worked in solid waste management for the Western Lake Superior
Sanitary District for 11 years. More recently he is one of the managers of a source-separated organics composting facility and yard waste collection site. He has also worked for the National Park Service collecting data for various aquatic research and monitoring efforts. Tom often presents compost operational summaries to groups who tour the District’s facilities.

Susan Darley-Hill

Susan has coordinated environmental programs for 11 years for the WLSSD. She designed and implemented the district’s curbside food-waste pilot program, developed and manages the organics drop site program, oversees implementation and enforcement of the organic waste recovery ordinance, and creates and presents educational programs on composting, wastewater treatment and household hazardous waste at the local, regional and national levels. She spent 15 years teaching at the college level as well as eight years as education director at a teaching farm.
